Reflecting on the 2023-24 academic year, the Phi Alpha Honor Society Iota Pi chapter embarked on a remarkable journey characterized by service, unity, and impactful events that have significantly improved the welfare of communities, especially those marginalized and vulnerable.
Our mission is to empower social work students to volunteer at Loma Linda University events, such as Christmas gift wrapping, open houses, and Wholeness Hour on spiritual integration. Students have also extended their impact beyond campus by volunteering at other agencies, including the LA Regional Food Bank, White Memorial Church Food Cycle, Los Angeles Multiple Sclerosis Walk in the Inland Empire, Psychological Care and Healing Center, and the Corona-Norco Community Free Health Screening.
Unique to our chapter, we hosted Wholeness Hours featuring the Community Resiliency Model and Yoga for Wellness, providing students with a space to refresh and rejuvenate. Our recent SBH Hoodie Fundraiser was a success, raising over $600 and establishing a solid foundation for next year's initiatives.

Phi Alpha supported the First Serve Foundation's Yoga and Wellness Initiative, aimed at fostering a brighter future for individuals overcoming homelessness, substance use, and the challenges of reintegration after incarceration.
We had volunteers planting vegetables and herbs, participating in a meaningful Earth Day community gathering with the First Serve Foundation, helping support housing rehabilitation and mental health wellness.
