As part of the School of Behavioral Health's Spiritual Integration Hour series, Ashley Oh, Clinical Psychology PsyD Student, will present "Exploring the Impact of Prayer on Student Burnout in Academic Settings."
This scoping review was conducted to examine the existing literature on the effects of prayer on burnout, stress, and resilience among student populations. Burnout among undergraduate and graduate students is a widespread issue, marked by emotional depletion, declining motivation, and a decreased feeling of accomplishment. Although studies have shown the short-term effectiveness of interventions such as mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral training, there is limited evidence on the success of these interventions for the long-term.
